At St. Joseph’s Newton Aycliffe, we provide a warm and nurturing nursery for children aged 2 and 3.

Our setting is more than just a place to learn - it’s a family where every child is valued and supported. We believe in helping children grow in every way: physically, spiritually, academically, socially, and emotionally. Surrounded by love, care, and encouragement, your child will thrive in a safe and stimulating space designed to spark curiosity and build confidence.

At St. Joseph’s, we know that learning doesn’t just happen indoors. Our nursery offers a spacious outdoor play area filled with exciting equipment to encourage active play, creativity, and exploration.

We are proud to provide Forest School sessions, giving children the chance to connect with nature, develop confidence, and learn new skills in a safe and inspiring outdoor environment. From building dens to discovering wildlife, these experiences help foster independence and a love for the natural world.

Happy Parent Testimonials

“My little girl has thrived at St Joseph’s nursery. She went in very cautious and timid and the staff were incredibly patient and understanding with her giving her opportunities to build her confidence, make friends and have fun all whilst learning and practicing important skills. The staff are great at communicating with the parents as well as being phenomenal with the children, knowing their likes, dislikes and their needs. She has learned so much on both an academic and social level. Choosing this school nursery has ultimately helped her flourish and be her true and best self - the best decision I’ve ever made.” Scarlett’s mum

I was first very worried about Liliana joining St Joseph's wondering if she would make any new friends and she settled in lovely. She’s thriving and surprising me everyday with new things she’s learnt. I adore this school, I didn’t think I would but there’s never any issues and Mrs Young is always willing to listen and help with any concerns I have and she’s good at reassuring me. I highly recommend this school and I’m looking forward to my youngest to join.” Liliana’s mum
