St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School was delighted to host another lovely session of our Community and Reading Café. It was wonderful to welcome families and members of our wider school community into school to enjoy a warm drink, a good book, and plenty of friendly conversation. The café continues to be a fantastic opportunity for parents, carers and children to come together in a relaxed and welcoming environment. We are so grateful to everyone who joined us — your presence helps make these sessions such a positive and supportive part of school life.

Celebrating World Religions Day & Martin Luther King Day at St Joseph’s

This week at St Joseph’s, our school community came together for a thoughtful and inspiring celebration of World Religions Day and Martin Luther King Day. Our School Council led both assemblies with confidence and care, helping pupils to explore the importance of understanding, respecting, and valuing the many different beliefs and cultures that make up our world. They also shared learning about the life and legacy of Dr Martin Luther King Jr., focusing on his powerful messages of equality, peace, and compassion.

St Joseph’s Newton Aycliffe Celebrate 100 Years of Winnie‑the‑Pooh with a Magical Visit from Seven Stories

At St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, Newton Aycliffe, we love bringing stories to life — and this term, our children enjoyed a truly memorable experience as part of our celebration of Winnie‑the‑Pooh Day, marking the 100th anniversary of this much‑loved children’s classic. To enrich the children’s learning, we were delighted to welcome Seven Stories – The National Centre for Children’s Books into school. Their interactive storytelling sessions inspired imagination, creativity, and a love of literature, helping children explore the world of A.A. Milne’s Winnie‑the‑Pooh in a fun and meaningful way.
