Our Eco‑Warriors recently enjoyed a fantastic and informative visit to a local recycling plant, where they learned all about the important processes involved in recycling waste responsibly.
The children suited up in protective safety gear and discovered why safety is so important when working in a recycling environment. They learned which materials can and cannot be recycled, and were surprised to find out how often food‑contaminated items are placed in recycling bins and have to be removed by hand. This really highlighted just how important it is to recycle correctly.
One of the most exciting parts of the visit was seeing the impressive machinery in action. The children were fascinated by a machine that could automatically sort bottle cartons as they moved through the system — a brilliant example of how technology can help protect our environment.
It was a fantastic and eye‑opening experience, helping the children understand how their everyday choices can make a real difference to the planet. Well done to our Eco‑Warriors for their enthusiasm and commitment to caring for our world!
