Attendance at St Joseph's Catholic Primary School, Newton AycliffeAt St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, Newton Aycliffe, we always strive to encourage our children to understand the importance of excellent school attendance. This term, our Key Stage 2 pupils had a wonderful opportunity to showcase their creativity as they took part in an Our Trust–wide attendance competition, organised by the Bishop Hogarth Catholic Education Trust

Sharing the Message: Why Attendance Matters

Children were challenged to design an eye‑catching and informative poster explaining why attending school every day is so important. From learning new skills to building friendships and creating future opportunities, our pupils had plenty of ideas about why being in school makes such a big difference.

The competition encouraged them not only to express themselves artistically, but also to reflect on the many benefits of consistent attendance — something we work hard to promote here at St Joseph’s.

Celebrating Our Winner

We are thrilled to announce that one of our talented Key Stage 2 pupils has been selected as the winner of the competition!

Their poster stood out for being:

  • Fabulous in design
  • Informative with clear messages
  • Beautifully presented and engaging

It served as a brilliant reminder to us all about the value of being in school every day.

A Big Well Done

A huge well done to our winner and to all of the children who took part. The level of creativity and thought that went into every entry was inspiring. We are incredibly proud of you all!
